ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEST PLACEMENT

Any student applying to J. Addison School from outside Ontario where English is deemed not as a first language will be required to write an English Language Proficiency Test. Results from the test will determine placement in any one of the following English as a Second Language courses: ESLAO, ESLBO, ESLCO, ESLDO, or ESLEO.

Upon successful completion of ESLEO, students will enter course ENG2D, or upon successful completion of ESLEO and the successful writing of the EQAO sample Grade 10 Literacy Test, students will be placed in ENG3U.
